Bonnie Bragdon, DVM, MS

Dr. Bragdon is co-founder of the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association and currently serves as the President. Her primary goal in her work on behalf of IVPA members is to use her expertise gained working for large veterinary pharmaceutical and device companies to promote the unique value independent practices deliver to their clients, their patients, and their communities.
Dr. Bragdon joined PS Broker to educate veterinary students and veterinarians about the benefits of practice ownership. The combination of PS Broker’s expertise in evaluating and selling veterinary practices and Dr. Bragdon’s expertise in running a hospital as a clinician will support veterinarians as they explore ownership opportunities.
Dr. Bragdon strives to elevate the role of veterinarians in the business and practice of animal health through her work in organized medicine. She began her career in practice, serving for nearly 10 years as a clinician, practice owner and animal control director. Early in her career, Dr. Bragdon successfully bought and rebuilt a pet hospital franchise in Augusta, GA, growing revenue by 50 percent within the first year. She also served as the Director of Animal Services for Richmond County in Augusta, GA, where she helped develop a new multi-million-dollar shelter.
After a successful career as a practice owner, she transitioned to a career in veterinary pharmaceutical and device commercial operations. Her industry roles have included sales support, technical education, business development, and marketing leadership. Dr. Bragdon began her career in the industry with Abbott Animal Health, serving as field support to a team of sales reps until she transitioned to business development. As a business development manager, she was responsible for analyzing and collecting market data and evaluating new products for development. She has served in several marketing roles, including Vice President of marketing where she led product branding and promotional strategies.
Dr. Bragdon currently serves as Vice President of Veterinary Affairs for Zomedica Pharmaceuticals, leading the veterinary medical strategy as it relates to product launches, industry trends, strategic partnerships, professional education, and training. She received both her DVM and MS (Veterinary Clinical Sciences) from The Ohio State University and pursued graduate coursework in business administration. Dr. Bragdon has served in the AVMA’s House of Delegates and as a board member for the American Association of Industry Veterinarians and the Society for Veterinary Medical Ethics.
